IASS 2011: Expedition Track
Erstellt am 2010/09/05, zuletzt geändert am 2011/08/17
General
In 2011, an “Expedition Track” will supplement the seminar programme. Mode of travel is hiking. Gold Award Expedition teams can use the Expedition Track for their Final Gold Practice Expedition (first week) and/or Gold Expedition (second week). The instruction How to use the Alte Bahnmeisterei as an Expedition base applies generally.
Within this track, the German Award will provide the groups’ Supervisors only “help to help themselves”; the full legal responsibility rests with the Supervisor of the host group. Also, communication with the group by the IASS 2011 staff takes place (except for Assessment) only indirectly through the group’s Supervisor.
“Help to help themselves” includes:
-
Sharing knowledge about Wild Country Areas, maps, and campsites.
-
Providing the Alte Bahnmeisterei as a base camp.
-
Helping with Wild Country Assessors.
-
Assist with renting the required minibuses and cars.
All group transportation and drives to the expedition area / expedition groups must be carried out by drivers and vehicles of the guest group.
